Volunteering with
our community
Volunteering keeps the wheels at Balwyn Evergreen turning. As an NFP organisation, we rely on the skills and generosity of our volunteers to help us provide our essential programs and services to our community.
Looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity?
Volunteers are integral to the daily happenings at Balwyn Evergreen Centre, performing important roles such as driving the transport shuttle, serving meals, walking dogs and visiting people in their homes.
Our volunteers help us deliver our quality services and, in turn, they benefit from the positive experience of being part of our community and making a difference in the lives of seniors.
We're looking for volunteers for the following roles...
Evergreen Connections
visitors program
Older people are particularly vulnerable to becoming socially isolated, especially if they don't have any family around. Our volunteers play an important part in keeping them connected with regular visits. If you like to chat and are keen to make an evergreen connection, then we'd love to hear from you.
Community Local Transport Drivers
Our door-to-door transport service is critical for our clients to access our activities and programs.
We need drivers for weekday pick ups (short shifts, minivan or car) and Tuesday Outings (minivan).
If you're confident driving and love a chat, please get in touch.
Please visit the Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre (BVRC) for all other volunteer opportunities with Balwyn Evergreen.
Deciding to become a volunteer?
We 100% recommend it! But don't just take our word - our current volunteers are happy to share what prompted them to join our community and why volunteering with us is so worthwhile.
"The ambiance and attributes of Balwyn Evergreen eclipses all others. It's a beautiful, welcoming place with stunning street appearance. What really appeals to me is the inclusiveness - it's safe, accessible, modern and has a great vibe."
- Cameron, volunteer minivan driver
